What you want to see on the site

Postby kylie on Tue Jul 14, 2009 11:45 pm

Hi Guys,

What features would you like to see on the Umbies website?
(i.e. fan photo gallery etc)
I'd really like to hear your opinions and get some feedback on the current site please!

OOOOooooo..suggestions ;)

Fan photo gallery up and running would be FAB...

You've taken care of the online store..But having a link on the homepage would be better..

One addition to the forum (not so much a FEATURE to the website)I'd like to tweak would be to have a Category under "SHOWS" for "Upcoming Gigs/Tour Dates" where we could list all the upcoming shows/tours and talk about them there. Right now they're bunched in under "Miscellaneous" with a whole bunch of...well, miscellaneous.

That's my two cents for now...

NEXT!! :)

Us forum old-timers loved the photo gallery that was up on the website in 2007, and it'd be great to see that make its return.

Also, I know how busy the guys are, but it'd be nice if they had a blog or another place on their website where they could post a note every now and then. It would add a more personal touch.

I totally agree with Skipper that some kind of blog would give the site a more personal touch, but I was thinking that it doesn´t have to be a written blog. It could be a vidblog or a kind of audio podcast as well. I don't know if that could be realised, but I figured that since the Umbies are so visually- and sound-oriented that such a thing might be easier to do than sitting down at a table and try to write something. Having seen the schedule of their shows and knowing the amount of travelling that's involved I don't know if they could free some of their time to do such a thing and certainly don't want them to get a burn-out just to please some fans :? ;)

Another idea is to create a part on the site that is like the kind of thing that is implemented in OpenDisc, that fans get the opportunity to ask a question and the artist(s) answers the questions once in a while.

And is there some kind of way to get a map on here where every fan can pinpoint the country in which they live, would be cool to see in which countries there are fellow-fans! (And to see how big the fanbase is everywhere) :D

I'm looking forward to see if there will be changes on the site, quite curious what they will be. :)

We had something similar on the old site, where we all helped to build a map of places that the Umbies had visited. I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to tweak it.

Actually the UmbiMap is also associated with this current site on the HISTORY section. And is still kept up to date with cities that the Umbies have been/will be going to :)

Aha! I knew it was here somewhere! Sorry for the redundancy.

I have a question about the NTSC DVDs. I know the guys had them shipped to the US, but they weren't here yet when I saw them. How can I order those? I didn't see them listed in the online store.

Thanks!

Hey Tal Dahling...the remaining NTSC DVDs will be available for sale soon. A-List is setting up a way to purchase them either thru this site or the A-List site. Should be happening soon. :)
