Feedback on the US Tour:

Leslie: I liked the "extended" version of the Hans and Klaus bit - THAT was hilarious!!!

Shane and David gave such an excellent performance in Atlanta that the audience gave the guys a STANDING OVATION!!

IncorrigibleEnigma: They received a standing ovation at the 4/10 performance as well. David told everyone to sit down.

Talulattdh: I'm pretty sure we were laughing through the entire show. They cracked up a few times, and I think it may have had something to do with our reactions.

Also, hanging out with them afterwards was really fun. They are such great guys (Tina and Roadie included).

Sherri: Hi All:
I believe this is my first official forum post. I'm Sherri, Brenna's cousin. We road-tripped it to Atlanta. Warning to anyone thinking of doing the same thing if the Umbies return to that fair city - every friggin' road in downtown Atlanta is called "Peachtree"...ahem...

The show rocked - I had only allowed myself to see two small clips of Speedmouse prior to seeing the show live so there were many wonderful surprises. I have to agree with Leslie, Hans and Klaus were terrific - shimmy. But, the dinosaurs still have me grinning ear to ear and all the interactions between David: Roadie: Shane: Tina were awesome.

I was really amazed at how physical the show was and the energy level of the entire performance just blew me away. I felt so fortunate to be there, in person, to experience it.

The audience really bought into the experience as well. It was fun to be a part of a crowd who was so into it. Plus, looking around it was great to see such an eclectic mix of people - young ones around 12 up to senior citizens rounded the crowd of college students and 30 somethings out quite nicely. Such a mix - all of them laughing their fannies off - is such a terrific testament to the wonderful accomplishment the 4/13 performance was.

Can't wait to hear about upcoming shows as well - bet they are terrific!

Deb: SPEEDMOUSE at CalTech (Pasadena, CA) was also a huge hit with the audience. Kudos for Michael for making a glorified Lecture hall with limited creative lighting options into a Speedmouse-ified space. David and Shane had the audience in the palms of their hands. I did want to hit more than a few rude people who didn't let David and Shane finish acting out their sports before shouting out more suggestions. It got so bad at one point when David was trying to do "tennis" that he yelled out "Can you not see I'm trying to DO something here!" Wonder if that's just a U.S. thing. Also a couple of star sightings at the show..Eric Idle and Ed Begley, Jr. were there...as well as the composer of all the original music for SPEEDMOUSE, Andy Tubman! Lexa and I met him and he's a very nice guy.

So great job in Caleefoooorneeaa David and Shane!! Next time we're all hoping for a longer tour!

Brooke: ok so this is also the first time I'm posting but I just wanted to say that I saw Speedmouse on 11 April and it was hilarious. The only bad thing was that we had a row of families and their, probably 2-6 or 7 year olds sitting behind us. They were actually really well behaved most of the time so I guess it was all good. If it hadn't been our first date night in almost 6 months maybe it would have bothered me (we left the girl at the grandparents house). At one point the guys saw the kids in the audience, while David was trying to stretch Shane's "delicate bits" to fix him, and as they were passing it back David said "no no no not the little one. What are you doing here this isn't a kids show?" That immediately had my husband and I rolling. Other than that one little thing (which wasn't at all the fault of the show) it was fabulous! We laughed and laughed....and laughed....cried a little from laughing...and then laughed some more.

Wow.....Speedmouse. That seems like a lifetime ago! I think I saw the show in 2003.....and it was the very first time I had seen the boys live. It was a last minute decision to go, and I'm glad I did (or am I?? *snicker*)
Haha I really don't remember much from my show......*gasp* but it was great...haha :D

*runs around in circles* OMG OMG OMG!! The show in Hampton was brilliant! Honestly, I'll never get sick of Speedmouse.

I was skeptical about the crowd before the show. There were a LOT of old people and at least a dozen young children. However, the reception was fantastic! The theater was packed and everyone love it, which means the Umbies will surely be back, perhaps with a different show (probably The Rehearsal since we got a preview of Motorcycle Cop after the encore *w00t*).

As always, the changes the boys made spiced it up enough to keep us all entertained. They are so good at what they do, and it amazes me every time I see this show.

Highlights:
-Hubby yelled out "Caber toss!" during the Finger Wars and Shane completed it with a charming Scottish accent.
-Despite the presence of children, the show was not censored except the part in the Shane Is Broken bit (you all know what I'm talkin' about ;-) ) was shortened a bit.
-The Hans and Klaus scene was extended (something they also did last time) to include the stairs and the fire pole with ze clap UNT ze shimmy.
-Last but not least, my favorite part: When Shane left the Mime Kid (or Timmy), the entire audience followed him off the stage with their eyes and immediately redirected their gaze back to "watch" Mime Kid do his thing. BRILLIANT!

I can't wait to see the show again in NY!

Saw the show with hubby and friends. Very interesting Tal, that we were also skeptical of some of our crowd..the guys are performing at the Joyce Theatre, known for dance company performances..so it looked like some of the audience members may not have known what they were in for...But it was a good sized house and the laughter abounded..

And yeaup, love the little additions that keep the show fresh for both them AND us ;)

My hubby's suggested sport for "finger wars" was naked water polo...audience went hysterical when they heard it and the guys LOVED it...

And another little change that I loved (aside from Tal's) was the reaction after the rock music comes from Roadie's door...

Brilliant work as always.

Attended the guys' closing night performance in NYC with "the gang"...didn't think SPEEDMOUSE could get any better...but it did.

References to SPIDERMAN, the musical...Yoda in the elevator got VERY creative and cracked David up more than once..David and Shane got the better of the "way too wide" performance space and the show flowed brilliantly.

I saw Speedmouse on July 3rd. Wonderful! The guys were surprised anyone was there because of the holiday weekend (July 4th is Independence Day in the USA). We were small in number but great in enthusiasm. David commented that if you were there for modern dance "right place, wrong time."

I missed the "naked water polo" but did get to see David's tennis routine. Truly, truly missed the fencing "give us the finger" joke, though. :( (When I tell people about their humor that's the joke I site "intelligent, stupid humor.")

Regardless, they were so very, very amazing in person. To see the effort (much appreciated) on their parts, for our entertainment -- awesome. They should put out another DVD "Stay Fit: the Speedmouse Way." :D

I spoke to the guys after the show and was delighted to meet David: sweet, funny and freshly showered; Shane: showered, yet dehydrated, but funny nontheless. They both signed and drew on my Speedmouse DVD, David commenting that I had an early one -- and appearently the only DVD in the house, as their shippment hadn't arrived yet.

Thanks guys, for the work, for the laughter "Frikin' Roadie!" and for the ..err, umm...hand lotion. :)
Maria :P
