Feedback on the US Tour:
Leslie: I liked the "extended" version of the Hans and Klaus bit - THAT was hilarious!!!
Shane and David gave such an excellent performance in Atlanta that the audience gave the guys a STANDING OVATION!!
IncorrigibleEnigma: They received a standing ovation at the 4/10 performance as well. David told everyone to sit down.
Talulattdh: I'm pretty sure we were laughing through the entire show. They cracked up a few times, and I think it may have had something to do with our reactions.
Also, hanging out with them afterwards was really fun. They are such great guys (Tina and Roadie included).
Sherri: Hi All:
I believe this is my first official forum post. I'm Sherri, Brenna's cousin. We road-tripped it to Atlanta. Warning to anyone thinking of doing the same thing if the Umbies return to that fair city - every friggin' road in downtown Atlanta is called "Peachtree"...ahem...
The show rocked - I had only allowed myself to see two small clips of Speedmouse prior to seeing the show live so there were many wonderful surprises. I have to agree with Leslie, Hans and Klaus were terrific - shimmy. But, the dinosaurs still have me grinning ear to ear and all the interactions between David: Roadie: Shane: Tina were awesome.
I was really amazed at how physical the show was and the energy level of the entire performance just blew me away. I felt so fortunate to be there, in person, to experience it.
The audience really bought into the experience as well. It was fun to be a part of a crowd who was so into it. Plus, looking around it was great to see such an eclectic mix of people - young ones around 12 up to senior citizens rounded the crowd of college students and 30 somethings out quite nicely. Such a mix - all of them laughing their fannies off - is such a terrific testament to the wonderful accomplishment the 4/13 performance was.
Can't wait to hear about upcoming shows as well - bet they are terrific!
Deb: SPEEDMOUSE at CalTech (Pasadena, CA) was also a huge hit with the audience. Kudos for Michael for making a glorified Lecture hall with limited creative lighting options into a Speedmouse-ified space. David and Shane had the audience in the palms of their hands. I did want to hit more than a few rude people who didn't let David and Shane finish acting out their sports before shouting out more suggestions. It got so bad at one point when David was trying to do "tennis" that he yelled out "Can you not see I'm trying to DO something here!" Wonder if that's just a U.S. thing. Also a couple of star sightings at the show..Eric Idle and Ed Begley, Jr. were there...as well as the composer of all the original music for SPEEDMOUSE, Andy Tubman! Lexa and I met him and he's a very nice guy.
So great job in Caleefoooorneeaa David and Shane!! Next time we're all hoping for a longer tour!
Brooke: ok so this is also the first time I'm posting but I just wanted to say that I saw Speedmouse on 11 April and it was hilarious. The only bad thing was that we had a row of families and their, probably 2-6 or 7 year olds sitting behind us. They were actually really well behaved most of the time so I guess it was all good. If it hadn't been our first date night in almost 6 months maybe it would have bothered me (we left the girl at the grandparents house). At one point the guys saw the kids in the audience, while David was trying to stretch Shane's "delicate bits" to fix him, and as they were passing it back David said "no no no not the little one. What are you doing here this isn't a kids show?" That immediately had my husband and I rolling. Other than that one little thing (which wasn't at all the fault of the show) it was fabulous! We laughed and laughed....and laughed....cried a little from laughing...and then laughed some more.
