"The energy of this performance is astounding, the physical discipline faultless, and it is difficult to resist anything that involves hoovering up a cat", (The Scotsman)
"My faith in comedy was restored", (The Times)
It's "insanely inventive", (Time Out London) and "left me with that rarest of conditions these days: a face that ached from laughing so much", (Vancouver Sun)
"You're left only to shake your head and marvel", (NY Times)
And these are just the opinions of critics. Imagine what people who aren’t critical think of it!

The Umbilical Brothers: Speedmouse - Full DVD Listing:
- Speedmouse: Live from the Sydney Opera House 'The Umbilical Brothers' 'Speedmouse', recorded live at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House.
EXTRAS:
- Actors' commentary - Dave and Shane take you through the show, making stuff up as they think of it, and some surprise guests pop in. Warning: children should not turn this option on, as there are some rude words, and a monkey gets cut in half with a lightsabre.
- Live menu - If you don't want to make a decision then hang around for sixteen minutes of Umbilically enhanced menus
- Outtakes- some variations on scenes from the show and bits that went wrong. In other words, stuff that should have been cut in the first place but thanks to DVD are foolishly being put out for public consumption
- Stills - a selection of stills from the show, some of which could be stiller.
- Speedmouse: The Roadie's Cut - the extremely rare Roadie's Cut of the show, created without the guys' permission
- Unofficial Bootleg - the Umbies thought "let's get in first",so here it is: the unauthorized pirate version of the show
EXTRA EXTRAS:
- The 15 second commercial - a fairly useless extra, but amusing nonetheless
- The making of the 15 second commercial - even more questionable than the above, but gives you that crucial extra 6 minutes of running time.
- Making the menu - they felt there weren't enough "making-of's" on the DVD, so here is another one. They tried making the Making of the Making Of's, but the Making Of camera was being used.
The Umbies presenting a Logie - that's right, a Logie! Note: that's "presenting", not "winning".
- MTV Stuff - The Umbies won a Promax Award for these shorts created for MTV.
- An ad for some socks - this is not a joke, it really is an ad for socks
- An unnecessary video clip - "Why not" said the guys, "We're not paying for it, so lets bung a really expensive video clip on the thing." DVD's often contain irrelevant music videos, so the guys tricked the producer into paying for the clip, whose inclusion is justified by the fact that a four-second piece of the song is played during the show. The song, 'Don't Dance to This', was put together using no musical instruments, only the Umbies' vocals.
- Stuff that didn't make the DVD - they've even included the material that didn't make it onto the DVD, just to get people to buy it.
The Upside Down Show DVDs
2007 LOGIE WINNER for Most Outstanding Children's Program and Australia's #1 Show for Kids!
The Upside Down Show is a series for pre-schoolers showcasing the eye-popping physical comedy of the Umbilical Brothers.
In each episode, brothers Shane and David set out with much fanfare on a journey to a place they've never been. And, as it turns out, they've never been anywhere! It's all new to them whether they're going to the movie theatre, the airport or even a picnic. Eventually the brothers find their way, but not before taking a few wrong turns.
That's because they live in an apartment with loads of doors and passageways that lead to unusual rooms but rarely to their desired destination.
At the beginning of each episode, the brothers hand the viewer an imaginary remote control that allows them to "operate" Shane and David, fast forwarding, rewinding or pausing them. The remote also features a "wild card" function allowing the viewers to wreak havoc on the brothers by turning them upside down, rotating them around and around or simply making them sneeze.
Volumes currently released:
- Volume 1 – Art Museum and Barber Shop
- Volume 2 – Farm and Ice Cream Truck
- Volume 3 – Pet Shop and Camping
- Volume 4 – Airport and Beach (Due for Release August 1, 2008)
- Volumes 5 and 6 will be released in 2008.
